FALL FREEBIE TIME!
I decided it was time I got some new speech room decorations and posters! When I was getting my room ready this summer, I realized just how tired I was of the same old speech posters that have been part the speech room for many, many years – long before I was there. I decided to design a new speech and language banner for my room using some adorable, back-to-school, digital papers that I got from helloLovetoo’s store on Etsy. I thought I’d share it with you SLPs – just in case you needed a fresh sign, too!
I think it turned out pretty well! The kids seem to like it and it helps me remind them just what this class is all about and why they come to see me!
So…..Ta-da!! Here is my new banner. (My shelves actually look pretty nice and neat in this picture. Oops, I mean, how do you like my nice, neat shelves??).

DIRECTIONS FOR BANNER ASSEMBLY
1. Print each letter on card stock and laminate if possible.
2. Cut out each square so that there is no while border – (it goes faster if you use a paper-cutter).
3. Punch two holes in the top of each square about 5 inches apart.
4. Using string or twine, cut 30, 7 inch strands (you will use these to eventually tie each letter to the yarn).
5. On the floor or a large table, place all the letters evenly to spell “Speech & Language.”
6. Cut 2 pieces of yarn or twine, about 9 feet long each (there will be extra on the ends that you can trim after you have attached your letters).
7. After you have cut the right length of yarn or twine to hang your letters on (2 pieces that are about 9 feet long), begin tying the letters to the yarn or twine using the 30 pieces of string you had already cut out. Adjust the space between the letters to your liking.
So Cute! But I’m having trouble with the letters H, and the second G. Anyway to fix that?
Hi Carrie,
I was able to load them on my computer. Did you get it worked out on your end? If not, email me at heather@heatherspeechtherapy.com and I will email the letters to you and maybe that might help.
I just had to switch computers but all is good now!! Thanks so much! I can’t wait to print these out and hang them on my big empty white wall in my room!! =)
Ok great!! So glad you like the sign! I had a huge blank wall, so that’s where mine went, too! I’d love to see your finished project if you want to share a photo you can post it on my Heather’s Speech Therapy Facebook wall!
🙂
Love this sign! I have printed all the letters but H and the first G. Are you able to fix this?
Hi Stephanie! Oh no so sorry. Let me check and if you still can’t print I can email them to you!
It still comes up blank:(
What is your email address? I will attach them for you!
Thank you, I appreciate it! s.saylor@hotmail.com
No problem!! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing these with us! It really brightens up my room, and is perfect for using in a space that I had no idea what to do with!
Hi Mary,
