Good morning! Well, winter finally made an appearance this week and we are so happy. It has been unusually dry this year and where I live in California, many people depend on snow fall. I live near Mammoth Lakes, CA and Mammoth Mountain Ski resort. Snow is kind of a big deal around here. Los Angeles also depends in large part on our snow fall for their water supply.
So because I am so thankful for snow, I decided I needed to create a fun winter bingo game for you all. This winter vocabulary bingo game is great to use during your speech therapy sessions. If you were in need of a seasonal activity to do with your speech therapy kids, this is the perfect one. I used this yesterday with one of my students during an individual session in between his articulation drills. We each played two boards! It was so much fun.
This wintery game will help your students talk about the season and associate many things with winter. Learning the seasons was always something my kids struggled to grasp. Making it more concrete with visuals in a game format really helps them understand what exactly winter is….maybe you live at the beach and winter looks pretty much like the rest of the year. That’s okay too, because there are pictures in this game like raining, windy, cold…that can be discussed. You can even use it as a time to explain that weather is different depending on where you live!
Here we are playing our winter vocabulary bingo game during our speech therapy session!
I forgot my bingo chips so we used pencils to X out the pictures. Don’t forget your bingo chips. You could always use colored construction paper squares or circles.

Cute idea. Icicles is misspelled though.
