Hi Everyone,
I haven’t posted any updates on my blog on how my sweet, 18 month old, daughter is doing because I post them on a group page I started on Facebook.  The group is called “Gia Joy is Getting Well.”  Real quick – she just finished her 4th round of chemotherapy and is doing so well.  She has come so far from when we first got her diagnosis (malignant yolk sac tumor) on January 1, 2013.  She will have an MRI at the end of the month and then they will plan for surgery.  They think surgery will be at the beginning of April.

This picture was taken about a month and a half ago at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  An amazing non-profit organization called Flashes of Hope came to CHLA to photograph families free of charge.  These professional photographers do a little photo shoot and then give families; 2 8×10’s, 10 4×6’s, and a CD of the whole session! Such a neat organization!
My husband Mike and I were not really into the whole idea of getting our pictures taken.  We had been in the hospital for so long and were just grungy! But the nurses and even some doctors kept asking us if we were going to go get our pictures taken that day.  We sort of just laughed and said we would try to make it.  Anyway, we did go and the pictures we got turned out really sweet – despite our clothing and overall fatigue.
We are so thankful to have had Flashes of Hope capture our family in the middle of one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.  We will always look back and remember how God brought us through the valley and finally into our promised land of healing.
Thank you so much for all your support and love! It means so much to me.
Love,
Heather
